Thanatomania

Thanatomania (2023) A Film by René Thanatomania details the life of a strange loner and his various obsessions, including murder memorabilia and mondo cinema. He begins working on a project of his own; a scrapbook containing bodily elements and various other artifacts, which he slowly adds to all while developing new obsessions and ultimately venturing down a dark path. 

Thanatomania marks German director René Wiesner’s narrative feature debut and serves as both a reflective piece as well as a commentary on underground film and serial-killer-fanatic/death culture. Featuring a cast of cult film icons such as Jörg Wischnauski (Blight of Humanity), Brian Trenchard-Smith (Dead End Drive-in, Turkey Shoot), Dietrich Kuhlbrodt (Lars von Trier’s Europa) and a cameo from Uwe Boll!
