BUTFF x PRIKKELDRAAD presents:
For Friday, we’ve again invited ‘Prikkeldraad’ (‘barbed wire’ in Dutch), a local Breda-based dark and prickly metal organisation, to host our annual Metal Friday. So come and try to cross that barbed wire!
BLOED
BLOED stands for Belzebub Lacht Om Elke Dood (Belzebub Laughs At Every Death) — a fitting name for a band/project that drips with chaos, fury, and a wicked sense of humor.
COALMINE CANARY
A chaotic mathcore/noise rock band from Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Their musical recipe combines unusual time signatures, schizophrenic terror-riffs, and completely unhinged hardcore punk/grind beats.Performed with the attitude of an adrenaline-injected chimpanzee, thrown into a blender with a distorted production that sounds like it’s about to have a seizure — and voilà: you've got a Coalmine Canary song on your plate.
Live, Coalmine Canary delivers a feverish, frontal assault on body, hearing, and sanity — where no one is safe from their, for lack of a better word, deeply concerning “elegant” stage presence. In a whirlwind of energy and dissonance, band members and audience alike fly across the venue, while those in the back nervously measure the distance to the nearest emergency exit.
PERSISTANCE
A contraction of the words ‘to persist’ and ‘intense’ has been on the metallic march since the year 2000. Persistense’s music is rooted in the thrash death genre, however the various elements in their music are numerous and widespread. Everything from thrash, death, extreme, to even having the classic metal elements all come together within this metal addicted five-piece from Den Bosch, and develops into what could be called illustrious in both form and raw explosiveness.
